What software licensing model do these programs use?

The programs made available from this site as direct downloads in the Downloads section are provided under a proprietary/commercial license unless otherwise stated.  They are copyrighted works and include a End User License Agreement (EULA) that should be read and accepted.

So if it’s not Open Source is it Free?

Although the current license model is not of the Free or Open Source type there is currently no charge to use the software at this time.

So is it safe to use on my Production environment?

The software is currently being offered under a BETA Testing licensing agreement.  Although the software is intended to function well, the software is believed to contain defects and a primary purpose of this beta testing license is to obtain feedback on software performance and the identification of defects. You are advised to safeguard important data, to use caution and not to rely in any way on the correct functioning or performance of the software.

It is recommended that you become familiar with the software over a period of time prior to using it against a Production environment.

What versions of Weblogic does the monitor work with?

Currently the Weblogic Monitor has been tested on Weblogic 10.3.1 – 10.3.6 which were used for PeopleTools 8.50 – 8.51.  There may be an effort to get the monitor to work with versions back to Weblogic 8.1, which was used with PeopleTools 8.48, but it will be as time permits.

Why do I need to register to download the software?

A valid email address is required in order to download the software provided here because it is provided under a proprietary software license for BETA Testing purposes.  The email addresses will be used to notify those that have downloaded software of critical bugs if one is found during the testing cycle.  Normal updates, enhancements, or minor fixes will be posted on the site.
